I have recently experienced higher fasting glucose levels over the course of about 6 weeks. Normally, I am at 80- 120 in the mornings, but lately have been about 140- 160. The only big difference of late, I can pin point is,.. I have been drinking, maybe 1 can of diet sodas with my evening meals. I have also had sinus/ allergy issues about the same time (farmers in the locale are harvesting- kicking up dust & mold). Just trying to get a grip on whether the issue is in the sodas (as my diet has… read more
Beverly,
For god sake, drink the diet soda you so badly covet; in fact, do it once a day or every other day. Just cut volume…
AND…………….
STOP listening to clueless doctors!!
🦄
Pls try to see your doctor maybe they will change your medication, that's too high
Does anyone use a cream that helps with neuropathy?

Today I had an opportunity to compare my current meter (Accu-Chek Guide that I have been using for about 2 years now) to a venous blood draw at the Lab.
Because I was getting some fasting tests done after a 12 hour Fast I knew that in the hour between me testing at home and letting the Vampires suck it out of my arm the difference should not be significant.
So I tested my blood like normal at 6:28 AM - first thing I do after crawling out of bed in the morning and then I had a blood draw done… read more

I'm reading a lot of pro's and cons about coffee. But no one has yet to answer the question as to weather or not does cream added to coffee without sugar raise BG??
I stopped drinking coffee now 2 years ago because my Dr said it causes my blood pressure numbers go go higher. I started drinking decaf coffee and soon stop drinking coffee altogether and with walking… read more
My morning FBG was 96. Immediately after consuming two cups of coffee on an empty stomach it was 135. Is this considered a spike or is that considered a normal level for a type II person.
I'm 76 ,still drink coffee.Only time I stopped was in renal ward of specialist hospital last October when the staff refused to serve coffee " because it harms kidneys" but eventually I got my… read more
I go to bed with a reading of 5.4. and I am over the moon with this. Next morning I take a fasting reading and its at 6.8.🤬 My last meal was yesterday's lunch so I am thinking its the dawn phenomenon of increased cortisol thats adding the extra 1.5 mmol/l to my reading. Its seldom that I see it come down at all before I have eaten my breakfast and pretty much I am super hungry by then. After all its been 18 hours. If I dont do the fasting I dont get the evening value down to below 5.8. I have… read more

WATER…and more WATER..and even more WATER….
Not recommended IF you’re using it to bring down glucose; but recommended if you’re attempting to stabilize/synthesize glucose.
I really watch my carbs, rarely have any sugars, and portion control. I have lost 40+ pounds in past 7 months and A1c has dropped from 6.6 to 5.4. My blood sugar before dinner is usually between 90-110. Bedtime (3+ hours after evening meal) is usually around 100-110. I cannot seem to get my morning fasting blood sugar consistently below 100 and even getting it down to 100-110 is not consistent. Am I doing something wrong or is this just as good as it gets? Thanks.
May they just do not have the time. 🤔
