Most zero-calorie sweeteners like stevia and monk fruit won't raise blood sugar at all. Sugar alcohols like xylitol may have a small effect if consumed in large amounts. Many DiabetesTeam members have found success using monk fruit sweetener as it:
• Replaces sugar in a 1:1 ratio
• Has a glycemic index of 0
• Tastes very similar to regular sugar
• Has no aftertaste

Remember to consume any sweeteners in moderation, as very sweet alternatives may affect your taste preferences over time.

I use a coffee creamer in my coffee, usually Hazelnut no sugar added. I do shop which one is on sale and if it isn't sugar free, I'm OK with that. I have only 3 cups of coffee a week since it doesn't agree with me on days I have exercise class. When I have tea, I don't use creamer - just plain Yogi brand tea.
