Most times I eat things that are easy to calculate or I am able to find the nutritional information. This restaurant did not have nutritional information. I chose a chicken Philly cheesesteak with fried onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms topped with cheese. I ate only half. I had a salad as well.

Members shared practical strategies for estimating carbs when eating out, with many emphasizing that experience weighing and measuring food at home builds the skill to guesstimate portions accurately over time. Several members described their go-to restaurant choices, including skipping breads and starches in favor of protein and low-carb vegetables like salads, broccoli, and lettuce-wrapped burgers, with some using apps like MyFitnessPal or comparing similar menu items from other restaurants to estimate carb counts. A recurring theme was the importance of consistency and self-discipline, with members encouraging one another to stick with what works, celebrate small victories like good fasting blood sugar numbers, and remember that occasional treat meals are fine as long as healthy habits remain the norm.

We warriors got this.
