Check your sugars when fatigue happens. That can be a sign of high sugars. It will also let you know that what you ate was to high in carbs
Common feeling amongst many - "I feel all alone because nobody around me understands"
Well, I'm just kicking back watching the Tampa Bay/Dallas Wildcard Game
For a bit of perspective - statistically there is 7,874 DIABETICS in the stands watching the game live
We are nowhere near alone....
Yes at times I feel all alone
I use Nutritionix app, but it does not have a section for sugar alcohol nor Erythritol, I have to deduct these on my own and keep track of them. Since I had a tooth removed yesterday I am trying to track my Net Carbs as mostly eating some of the soft Keto snacks I have so they are high in fat also, I am not used to eating mostly Keto foods but out of options for now. I had stopped using apps and restarted recently as part of my 21 day challenge to myself. It would make it easier to be able to atā¦ read more
@A DiabetesTeam Member It's good that you are aware of your elevated bp-so many people aren't. And working to lower it now may prevent you from having to take yet another pill. Personally, I don'tā¦ read more

Good post Graham..
Bit of a public service announcement for the Canuck's in the group.
I posed the question to both my family doctor (yesterday) and my Pharmacist earlier this afternoon (who I give far more weight to then any Doc - after all a Pharmacist is an "expert" in medication of all types).
If you have been following the news we are getting conflicting views from Health Canada, Chief Medical Officers from the various provinces and even the Regional Health officials.

Nan22 We have had 4 doses too. We also both had covid in April; not sure where it came from. The doctor said it was almost like another shot. Have a good day.
I was wondering if some of my diabetic friends could help me try to figure out why my blood sugar readings are high most every morning. This morning at 7:30 it was 143. I have dealt with morning highs just about every morning since i was diagnosed many years ago, I see most of your fasting numbers on here and they are so good and would like to know how you all got them down so good. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you so much š

I recently began adding more healthy carbs back to my diet (as a test of sorts). Previously I was aiming for 50g carbs daily and now eat 100-110g daily. I am continuing to monitor my bg levels, and so far -so good (I think). It's been about a week. This week my weight has become stable, like never before. Before my weight would fluctuate 3 lbs from one day to the next- constant little ups and downs. The week I began adding back carbs my weight "flatlined"-something I've never seen before. According to data demographics in the USA.
We have been told that the diabetes incidence of the general population of the USA is almost 12%
Diabetes is much more common in the 65+ age group than we were led to believe.
29.2% of all adults 65 are diabetic.
By age 75 it is almost 35% diabetic.
So as diagnosed with diabetes, we are not alone. We are almost 1 in every 3, 65 year olds as diabetic.
In my church, there are 11 of us 65 +. All but 3 are diabetic

No need to be sorry JW
I don't know if there is an "official answer" to my question
What I do know is the EASD (EU's version of the ADA or the Commonwealth's "Diabetes XX - (UK, Canada, South Africa etc) recommends that Pre-Diabetics treat with low dose Metformin (typically 500 mg)
Their studies have shown that it delays onset of Type 2 by "greater than 10 years" IF the patient ever gets over the threshold at all
So I can only talk about what "I" plan to do

I don't spend a great deal of time on Facebook but when I do I seem to get bombarded by the Snake Oil Sellers telling me how they will cure diabetes with their magic formula - that you somehow need to take month after month because I guess the cure wears off after the last pill in the bottle?
But I also get a number of legitimate advertisements from providers that have some program or some diet all figured out and for X bucks a month they will guide you down the diabetic path.
