Members shared a range of approaches to checking blood sugar as a Type 2 diabetic, with most agreeing that testing at least twice a day, such as a morning fasting check and a post-meal reading, gives both the individual and their doctor useful information. Several members described personalizing their routines based on their treatment, like testing more frequently when on insulin or experimenting with new foods, and one member added the helpful reminder to always check before driving. A recurring theme was that how often you test depends on your situation, and staying in tune with how your body feels is just as important as the numbers.

If your A1C is controlled, and yours is, then twice a day is more than enough

I try always to test my FBS (important number that can be missed in an A1C test if it starts creeping higher) and then I usually do a 2 hour post meal just to make sure I'm not "straying"

That's my finger stick routine, which I am using again - didn't see the need to wear the Libra2's anymore and the new ones were coming out, so just went back to the lance and don't mind it that much

Only thing I would add to the AI post is to check before driving!

I curently fingerstick less than the 12x a day that I did while using the 200 units a day of insulin. With no insulin, I'm not afraid of overdosing on insulin any more.

I am experimenting with fruit now, so I do more fingersticks than most diabetics now. But I am doing it to track what I can eat now, with Jardiance. Even though I am titrating down my Jardiance.

Good luck all you Warriors.
Praying for each of you.
