I have increased blood in my urine. I do have UTIs and kidney stones alot. But my doctor is concerned that the nerve damage is affecting my bladder. It burns very bad at times, even with no infection or stone. That was a great question @A DiabetesTeam Member
Good question and AI answered pretty well.
I have diagnosed kidney disease and I watch the ups and downs of that with my diabetes. If I could tell myself 30 years ago to watch my numbers more carefully back then I would but I was already having protein in my urine when I was first diagnosed which in my opinion means that I was a diabetic long before I was even diagnosed but like many younger people with no chronic illnesses I did not have regular check ups (other than to have babies) which was when it was first caught. I do know I was working very hard back then and barely had time to eat when I did I ate what I could quickly...Now I am taking it very seriously!
Thank you for posting your question.
