Members responded to a question about daily morning leg cramps in someone with Type 2 diabetes and mild neuropathy, offering a range of practical strategies that have worked for them personally. Several members recommended keeping legs warm with extra blankets at night, taking magnesium supplements to address potential deficiencies, and monitoring blood sugar levels closely since high glucose can trigger cramping. A recurring theme was that neuropathy itself can cause muscle cramps, and while over-the-counter remedies and prescribed muscle relaxants have helped some members find relief, experimenting with warmth, supplements, and glucose control may reduce the frequency and intensity of morning cramps.

I found by taking a soluble Magnesium tablet the cramps immediately stops. A shortage of Vitamin B12 in the blood may also give a tingly feeling of the feet.

Also it’s best to monitor blood sugars as if they’re high this can cause cramps. You may have to aim for lower levels than your current ones.

Definitely try Magnesium
