You could always ask your Doc about the Human Recumbent Insulins Humulin N or Novolin N - these are 99.8% real human insulin so nothing to be allergic to unless it's that 0.2% preservative
These are the closest you will find to "generic" insulins, they are less expensive then the synthetics but a little less protection built in if you give yourself a slight overdose - the synthetics give you a little protection against a dosing "oops" within reason, the (naturals) are not forgiving like that which is why the newer recipes are more often prescribed
