This is the subject of much debate as to whether the artificial sweeteners (the chemical ones, not sugar alcohols or polyols) can cause cancer

Well a recently published study looked at Sucralose (which is also sold under the brand name Splenda in little sugar packets)

They found that yes, at 4000 micrograms of concentration it can cause cell inflammation which can lead to cancer

Sounds scary

So they had test subjects drink 4 diet soda's and then tested their blood for sucralose concentration

Members expressed relief and gratitude after learning that artificial sweeteners pose no real health risk at normal consumption levels, with many sharing they had felt guilty about using diet sodas or sugar substitutes in their coffee. Several members mentioned their personal choices, including switching to stevia (a plant-based sweetener) or cutting back on diet drinks to avoid dependency rather than health concerns, while agreeing that sugar-laden beverages remain far more harmful for people with diabetes. A recurring theme was appreciation for science-based perspective that cuts through misleading headlines, helping members make informed choices without unnecessary fear or guilt.

Cheryl introduced me to Stevia in the Raw. It's supposed to be one of the best substitute sweeteners. I didn't know that Stevia is actually a plant.

It's a good thing that they are always testing this stuff but they will force feed rats like 200 pounds of some substance as quickly as they can and they point and say "told you it was dangerous" 😁

So perspective is always necessary

If you drink 24 litres or just over 810 fluid ounces of WATER in a 24 hour period you will overwhelm your kidneys and they will shut down - full kidney failure

So maybe the Headline should be "Study Proves that Drinking Water is Deadly" - right 😁

Thanks Graham for the info. I won't feel guilty about my 3 diet sodas!

Drinking sugar laden drinks is far far far more harmful.

As usual many scientists have proved how unreliable they are which means we have to do our research rather than trust their flawed figures.

Thanks so much Graham. I have always been made to feel guilty for drinking Diet Coke, glad to know I’m not doing real harm to my health.
