How do I calibrate my Freestyle Libre 2 sensor?

Regular blood glucose monitoring is essential for managing diabetes effectively. The Freestyle Libre 2 system helps track glucose levels continuously, but proper calibration ensures accurate readings.

For best results, check your blood sugar with a traditional finger stick meter when your glucose levels are stable (not rapidly rising or falling). Compare this reading to your Libre 2 sensor reading. If there's a significant difference, you may need to calibrate following the manufacturer's instructions in your device manual.

Remember that factors like hydration, temperature, and sensor placement can affect readings. Always consult with your healthcare provider about the best monitoring schedule for your specific situation.

Unfortunately none of the Libre sensors (Original Libre or Libre2 or Libre3) can be calibrated

If they are consistently off (substantially) the best you can do is fill out the on-line claim form (Abbott's website) and within 2 or 3 days you will get a replacement sent to your door (they are great about that - replacing a faulty sensor)
