Numbness and tingling in fingers can be related to blood sugar control. The first step is to ensure you're monitoring your glucose levels consistently using a continuous glucose monitor if possible. This helps identify patterns and avoid blood sugar spikes or drops that could contribute to nerve-related symptoms.
Regular exercise, even gentle movement, can help improve circulation and manage blood sugar levels. One DiabetesTeam member found that walking 45 minutes daily made a significant difference in their overall wellbeing and blood sugar numbers. Some additional strategies to help manage nerve-related symptoms include:
- Taking regular breaks from sitting by walking around every 30 minutes
- Following a balanced, healthy diet
- Taking all prescribed medications as directed
- Maintaining a healthy weight
- Quitting smoking if applicable
- Limiting alcohol consumption
If symptoms persist or worsen, speak with your healthcare provider. They can evaluate your current treatment plan and may recommend additional medications or treatments specifically for nerve-related discomfort.

Is this a new tingling, or frm an injury?
Only asking because I have constant tingling in my left pinky after fracturing my wrist. If from neuropathy, other than control, and possibly physical therapy, I have new ideas.
