A fresh fruit salad WITHOUT GRAPES RAISINS SULTANAS LYCHEES and with CHOPPED WALNUTS but GOOGLE "SAFE FRUIT FOR DIABETICS" first and NO MACADAMIA NUTS (way too high in fats).or a RICE PUDDING with a sweetener like XYLITOL and a sprinkle of ground nutmeg and baked in an oven ENJOY!

Marg that is so true. If we try to be perfect we do feel stressed. I took a clutter class once. The teacher told us to do the best we can with most of the home but leave one area cluttered. This releives the burden of needing to be perfect. Same with food. Every once in a while have that small bag of potato chips, savor it and then get right back on the horse. This is if you can. Some people can't. But we do our best.

How can I enjoy desserts on a cruise while managing diabetes?

When enjoying desserts on a cruise, focus on portion control and making mindful choices. Consider having just one small portion and avoid keeping leftovers. You can look for sugar-free options that may be available on the cruise menu, such as sugar-free puddings or ice cream made with artificial sweeteners. Remember that you're not completely restricted from sweets - it's about making smart adjustments. Look for desserts that might incorporate alternatives to regular sugar, such as those made with artificial sweeteners. If you're concerned about the cruise's dessert options, consider bringing some of your own low-sugar snacks like portion-controlled sugar-free chocolate pudding or small servings of fresh berries, which can satisfy a sweet craving while helping maintain blood sugar levels.
