When cruising, focus on diabetes-friendly options like lean proteins and vegetables. Good choices include:

- Grilled fish (especially salmon) and chicken dishes
- Fresh salads with chickpeas, avocado, and vegetables
- Mediterranean-style dishes with olive oil and lean proteins
- Small portions of whole grains like quinoa or bulgur wheat For snacks between meals, consider:

- Celery sticks with unsalted peanut butter
- Small portions of low-sugar fruits like berries or kiwis
- Unsalted nuts
- Sugar-free dessert options

Remember to monitor portion sizes and check your blood sugar regularly, especially with buffet-style dining. It's helpful to scan the full buffet before filling your plate to make the best choices for managing your diabetes.

One of my favourite snacks is homemade hummus with carrots celery peppers spring onions cut into sticks to dip n my hummus. Btw does anyone know that the liquid from tinned chickpeas can be used instead of egg whites to make meringues!
