Eating a bit of protein
Protein doesn't "normally" get converted into blood sugar UNLESS your body is running low on sugar (depleting it from the blood) which it converts free protein (not too long digested) into blood sugar
So no effect on BG is you don't need it, but will help out a low if you do
Especially if you are protecting from a low overnight - a high protein snack before bed will likely make the difference...
