Since most Type 2's do not have Diabetes alone but more correctly have Metabolic Syndrome which includes High Cholesterol, High Blood Pressure, High Triglycerides, Obesity and PCOS (which is closely linked) many are also prescribed a Statin

Members engaged with a post highlighting new research showing statins may reduce cancer risk by 38 to 66 percent across various types, with many sharing their own statin regimens including Rosuvastatin, Atorvastatin, and Simvastatin at varying doses. Several members described practical experiences such as switching statins to manage leg pain side effects, taking CoQ10 alongside their medication, and adjusting dosages with their doctors to find what works best for their individual lipid panels and inflammation levels. A recurring theme was the tension between appreciating the protective benefits of statins while remaining cautious about side effects, questioning cookie cutter prescribing approaches, and balancing pharmaceutical interventions with lifestyle changes.

@A DiabetesTeam Member I hear you but at least in my case I take a Canadian Generic for Lipitor - I can get a whole years worth for $62.05 - that's not paying for any golf vacation in Hawaii

I take 10 mg. of Atorvastatin with added calcium. For those experiencing leg pain from statins, there are some that have fewer side effects. I had to be switched from Simvastatin to Atorvastatin, because of the leg pain.
