Members urged someone considering medication adjustments with Ozempic to always consult their doctor first, sharing that while some had their metformin reduced, it was rarely eliminated entirely. Several members described personal experiences where weight loss from GLP-1 medications like Ozempic or Trulicity naturally led to lower blood sugar numbers and subsequent medication adjustments under medical supervision. A recurring theme was frustration over medication shortages caused by non-diabetic demand, with one UK member sharing they couldn't access Ozempic at all due to celebrity and off-label use depleting supply.

@A DiabetesTeam Member, only if your doctor says. Mine reduced my metformin, but didn’t take it totally away.

You can't even get ozempic in the UK guys. Apparently it's because all of the so called celebs 🙄 your Sharon Oz Bourne types, sorry I can't stand them, have bought them in plentiful supply.. My GP told me that
