I am always tired feeling to sleep

I am pre-diabetic; as Graham wrote-diabetes is about needed "food and energy" no longer getting absorbed into the cells, to nourish the body. Instead, the glucose builds up in the blood and the body tries to flush it out in the urine. People with diabetes aren't getting the fuel they need into their cells and have low energy as a result.
I don't have as much energy as I used to either and eating a large meal is sure to put me to sleep. I think I am a tortoise, and my hubby is a sloth. I also have the pulse in the 50's to prove it. My meal portions are too large and I also eat in order to go to sleep at night, which is my downfall.
I think my need to sleep often, is a sign of my metabolic syndrome and a vicious cycle that is hard to break. You may want to google "metabolic syndrome" to see if it describes you.
I've lost 40 pounds over the last year, lowered my blood sugar and blood pressure and am more active, but still lack energy. I have more weight to lose though. Good luck -keep asking questions until you find the answers you need.
Feeling tired could be a lack of energy (goes hand in hand with diabetes - we just don't burn "fuel" for energy really well - that's diabetes)
But it could also be High Blood Sugar - that causes fatigue as well
Once you figure out which is the culprit then you can make a plan to deal with it
You will never likely run a marathon, but we can all regulate our energy levels better once we know what we need to fix
