@A DiabetesTeam Member I agree and a lot of healthy foods are more expensive-but not all. I would recommend that you learn to read the nutrition labels on food packages. Limit the grams of carbs and sugars you eat daily. Try out a free app for checking the carbs and sugars in all food (including fresh produce that don't have labels). Reduce the amount of processed and fast food you eat. And cook some of your own meals at home using healthy and more affordable ingredients. Not sure what is affordable in your area. Buying produce that is in season may help. In my country canned sardines, tuna, peanut butter, eggs are affordable choices of protein. Also dried beans and brown rice (eaten in small amounts for diabetics). Canned tomatoes, and frozen vegetables are also more affordable. Good luck. What foods are affordable in your country?
