I take my insulin every meal but if I eat something I'm not supposed to after a few hours my blood sugars go up over 220 and my insulin only lasts 4 hours in my body so it doesn't have time to work? What can I do about it?
The food journal will show the doctor how you eat. Your blood sugars spike 2 hours after you eat then start falling. Until you can see your doctor you may then need to learn how to count carbs and cut them. Weigh and measure everything you eat. Read labels for carb count. I live near 92nd and Federal and if you think meeting would help i can meet you somewhere and go over carb counting
I know what I ate but I don't know how much surger or carbs are in it I have a blue tooth insulin pen and the app tells me how much to take when I put in my blood sugar numbers the pen is set to put me at 100 but that never works so I asked my doctor about it and they told me I have to wait until my next visit that is a long time away I would like to get it fixed sooner if I could but they will not help me
Talk to your doctor. You may not be using enough insulin and they can tell you how to adjust it. Also keep a journal of what you ate and what your sugars are 2 hours later
