Yes - it would odd if it didn't.

Anytime you produce antibodies to fight infection (or take antibiotics) sugar is required to make them work so your liver releases store sugar to fuel the process.

So if you blood sugar "didn't rise" that could indicate a problem with your liver.

Any kind of stress to your body could raise sugar levels, especially if infection as your body needs energy to heal, so sugar levels increase. Even financial stress or emotional stress can affect our numbers.
