A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm struggling as the contraceptive pill that I used cased chest pains and I had to stop taking it as I had severe chest pains and shortness of breath. I have to find alternative medication.

Well after my fourth pregnancy I opted for my tubes to be tied. I am 57 and have gone through Menopause. Am sorry I am no help here. Still, when I was younger if I had to go on antibiotics were used a female condem and the male condem ( yes there really is a female condem though you might know. It goes up inside you. you incert it before intercorse and pull it gently out after) but it works very well. If the man uses his condom too then it is doubley affective. I don't remember the name of it but your OBGyn should.

I would def. recommend tying of tubes. My pregnancies were life threating since i'm a type 1 diabetic....1st born came when i was 24 weeks,2nd child came when i was 32 weeks. I've made lots of stupid decisions in my 43yrs of life, But having my tubes tide was one of the best, (and of course accepting Jesus as my personal saviour.) Thee Best decision, All the best Dear

I am giggling at the men who are so squeemish about visectomys and yet us women undergo Labor. It is Ironic. We are in your coner sweetie! Also getting tubes tied it is not nearly as hard on your body as a major surgery. I too have had more surgeries than I would love to have had. keeping you in good thoughts and preayers

Thanks Elmarie. I guess thats the best option. I'm trying to get me husband to do the vasectomy but he's against the idea. I've had 5 operations and was hoping I would not have to have another one!
