For several years I have had ulcers on my gums and I am interested in knowing if it’s a side effect of Diabetes?

@A DiabetesTeam Member Have you been checked for oral lichen planus? This sometimes can be a side effect of Metformin and Sulfonureas
I occasionally get small ulcers on my gums or other spots inside my mouth. I'm not sure what causes them. When i feel one starting i use rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab or and alcohol swab and rub it over the spot. For me it seems to stop them from forming.
@A DiabetesTeam Member hello to you from Maroochdore on the Pacific Ocean East Coast of Australia and I don’t know the answer to your low glucose levels but I recommend that you see your doctor about it if it’s too low it can be dangerous for you.
I have just added you to my team to stay in touch with you.

👋 hiya Ms. Judy
I hope you are well! In regards to the mouth sores, do you get dry mouth at all? Sometimes this can cause ulcers in the mouth. How is your dental hygiene? Asking because how one takes care of their mouth can either prevent or cause. Just some info I looked up on the internet. I use a very soft tooth brush, that seems to help for me. I also use a mouth wash for "dry mouth". Do you have floss picks, wood picks might be a bit rough on the mouth. Not sure how the medical world works in AU, if you can try to get to a dentist or doctor to have them look at it,maybe they can pro ide more legitimate answers.
Wishing you all the best and wanted to let you know I was thinking of you today, even prior to the question. I hope you have a lovely day in maroochdore. Sending you the biggest hugs
