There is no "right answer" to your question. In "my opinion" your fasting numbers are "good" for being diabetic. They would fall into the well controlled range (with or without meds).

Fasting numbers are "categorized" into one or two different "ranges" depending on what country you live in. Some recognize a "pre-diabetic" fasting number, others do not.

As @A DiabetesTeam Member notes, in the "two range" system, below 100/5.5 is "totally normal, not diabetic levels" and then a second range that has the "best chance of avoiding complications" if you have diabetes.

That second range does "vary a bit" depending on which Diabetic Association published the numbers.

Strictly from a "complications" point of view, you start doing damage to your macrovascular system at levels "above" 140/7.8.

So "minimally" if your FBS (fasting) numbers "stay below" 140/7.8 you "know" that for probably half the day you are doing "no long term damage" as a result of your blood sugar.

For those simply "at risk" of developing diabetes or those diagnosed as "pre-diabetic", they should have a target range of "less than" 125/6.9 for the best chance to "delay onset" for 10 years or more.

So "your numbers" put you into the preferred control range for someone trying to "prevent" full blown diabetes - so a pretty good position to be in :)

I think they're pretty good. I've been struggling myself lately because of gastroparesis. If those were my numbers, if be very happy.
