I was told to go to bed and get up at the same time each day. It takes a while to catch on but I go to bed around 11pm and get up at 8am. I sleep poorly and am often up and down several times but I always get up at 8am even if I don't get to sleep until 5am. It is gradually improving.
My mother started taking prescribed Melatonin herself ans she stated it works very well, might take a few days to kick in, but she is happy with it. She says she has not slept this good in years. Hope it helps you also
I spoke with my doctor yesterday. I finally admitted to my doctor about my insomnia. I never told him before that this is been going on for about a year or two. He wanted to prescribe me Trazadone, but the last thing I need is another med to add to my collection. He then suggested Melatonin. I will try that. I'll keep you posted as to whether or not it works.
I have the same problem I have sleep apnea on top of diabetes
What I do, is try to find something to do, like color in the dollar store they gave some adult coloring books, they say peace, or Amazon or something like that, or clean or go for a walk. I know it is hard with this covid. Sometimes I will have a snack which raises my sugars to keep me from falling asleep.
Try benadryl and melatonin. Helps me some
