Need Help For Exercise With Braces On Feet
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have a problem regarding exercises. I wear a foot brace on both of my feet. So walking is limited and I don’t need to over exercise my legs thus my query. Other than swimming what else could I do?

What about chair exercises? There's all kinds of YouTube videos for seated yoga, resistance training, gentle weight lifting, and more. Maybe you could find something that you'd enjoy doing that wouldn't require walking or standing?

I wear a brace on my left leg. I take it off to use my stationary bike. Other than that all I do is chair exercises. Have been doing them on my own but not regularly, so I have joined a group of seniors at my Community Health Centre that do chair exercises twice a week. I will go once a week to start. My first time will be on Thursday. Because of back problems I was told it is OK to go in a wheelchair.

I have started doing chair yoga. It is a great way to stretch and work on balance too. I was not sure it would really be a work out but it is.

I am sorry that I can't help you on that subject as I have never had to experience of wearing braces and I have never been near anyone that maybe using them. "SORRY" It looks like you have got there some support on what you might be looking for. Good luck anyway. Trish xoxoxoxo
