Hi Suecsdy,
I used Victoza and my sugars came down but after awhile they went back up. I was also put on Lantus SoloStar Pen and now my insurance will no longer pay for part of it so I would have to pay all the cost. So, they gave me 3 choices and were supposed to be cheaper than Lantus. Well my doctor choose Basaglar and guess what it is even more costly then the Lantus . So I do not know how long I will stay on it because of the cost.
I used Victoza briefly, until my ins made it non-formulary and I couldn't afford it. I was very good for controlling my diabetes, but hard on my guts. Until just recently, I've been using Bydureon and really liked it. It was a weekly injectable and worked even better than Victoza.
I used only victoza a few years back now, when it first came out. It was not wonderful to my body so I did have to stop using it. Ill feelings and something just said you need to get off of this. So as a person who trusts my gut instincts I did go off of it. This is not to say that it wont help you everyone is different and how they react.Do what is best for you.
