Members enthusiastically shared creative low-carb substitutions for managing blood sugar, with several trying almond flour pancakes that turned out decent despite a slightly eggy texture, and others suggesting mug bread recipes that work well in waffle makers for breakfast sandwiches. The original poster reported their post-meal blood sugar improved from the 300s to the 200s with the almond flour switch, though they're still struggling with control and plan to work with a new doctor and nutritionist, prompting supportive advice about adding daily exercise like walking and maintaining a low-carb, high-protein diet. A recurring theme was the community's determination to find practical food swaps and lifestyle changes that work, balanced with honest struggles around motivation for exercise and the challenges of diabetes progression.

This is called mug bread. You can put in a mug and micro for 90 sec then cut in 4 peices and toast them. They make a good breakfast sandwich like mcmuffin. I also put in Tupperware container with rounded bottom and about as round as hamburger bun. I cut in half resulting in flat bottom and ruined top like a hamburger bun

I also just used this recipe and poured into waffle maker and they turned out perfect. I made a breakfast with them. I'll find pic to share

@A DiabetesTeam Member Sooo... drumrolls please... hehe, they came out decent, I believe they were around 4 inches I made 2 with a total of 16g of carbs, the texture is slightly different, a hint of egginess but that can be masked a little with vanilla extract, I think I can live with that :) will see what my numbers think in a couple hours
