Members responded to someone uncertain about when to seek medical help for high blood sugar, with the clear consensus being that levels consistently over 180 cause ongoing damage to the body, numbers in the 500-600 range require immediate medical attention or an ER visit, and any high reading lasting more than three days warrants a call to the doctor. Several members shared practical strategies for bringing elevated numbers down more quickly, including drinking plenty of water, going for walks, cutting out carbs and concentrated sugars for the next few meals, and checking blood sugar before each meal and at bedtime. A recurring theme was that recovery from the 300s should not take several days, and members gently but firmly encouraged seeking better guidance from a healthcare provider to gain tighter control and prevent serious complications.

sugar crashes can put you in the hospital and you have to be aware when i get mine they are usually around 60 i keep chopped up apples for that if it get to low you can get into big trouble. on the high side my doc says 500 is time to go to hospital . i am the worlds worst on this one i do good for awhile and then mine is back up try to stay away from alot of sweets pasta and high carb stuff i learned to read the stuff on the back of the box it only take a min and yes it is hard to stay away from that stuff you can also ask your doctor they have pills that can bring your sugar down also walking and water on the walks will help too

Drink more water, Eat less starches and watch your carbs. you do have to watch what you eat. Do not think you can eat what you want and not take meds and watch what you do diet wise. It is hard but do your best to have better control.
