Members debated whether diabetics can consume honey in response to someone seeking clarity on the topic, with opinions ranging from absolute avoidance to cautious, measured use. Several members shared that any honey causes their blood sugar to spike and should be avoided entirely, while others explained that pure raw honey in very small amounts (like one teaspoon in porridge) has a lower glycemic load than a banana and does not cause the same insulin spike as white sugar or blended supermarket honey. A recurring theme was that individual responses vary widely, and members emphasized the importance of testing one's own blood sugar response and consulting with medical professionals to make informed, personalized decisions.

Go to benefits-of-honey.com 3 reasons why honey should not be banned in diabetic diet. Then it's up to you whether you ban it in your diet or not. I myself can take a teaspoon in porridge for breakfast, I am T1.5 LADA, and do basal test first so it is different for me, it's your body and your decision on what suits you. Good luck.

Hi, @A DiabetesTeam Member have you decided on whether or not to take honey? As it is rather nice on porridge or banana, and as I said it does have a lower glycemic rate than banana. Wishing you well. Chris
