Members widely confirmed that high blood pressure and Type 2 diabetes often go hand in hand, with most managing both conditions through medication like lisinopril or amlodipine. Several members shared that reducing processed foods, cutting out salt, losing weight, and exercising regularly helped lower their blood pressure, though some noted that weight loss alone didn't always solve the problem. A recurring theme was the connection between stress and elevated numbers, with many emphasizing the importance of managing anxiety, staying active, and maintaining a consistent routine to keep both conditions under better control.

My blood pressure was high before I was diagnosed type 2. I'm on three different meds for bp. I have lost 25 lbs and could stand to lose another ten but not more than that. I though the weight loss would help with the blood pressure, but it hasn't. The problem for me is on the days I work, my sugar is stable. I'm guessing that's because I burn lots of calories, but my pressure is high. When I'm off work the opposite happens. It sometimes feels like a lost cause, but I try to keep good spirits about it all.

Truthfully, I think that I really benefited from stopping all processed food. That means no canned, boxed, dried foods or processed meat. My weight went down as well as my high blood pressure went down. I never salt any thing.
