Living with type 2 diabetes can often mean trying a series of dietary and lifestyle changes before finding the combination that helps you stay on the right path to controlling your blood sugar and A1c levels.

Denyse LeFever, 67, had that experience after her initial diabetes diagnosis. However, once she discovered how much of an impact stress was having on her blood sugar levels, she found a combination of lifestyle changes that helped her live her healthiest life. By combining yoga nidra with walking, volunteering, spending time with family, and eating healthy foods, LeFever has been able to feel her best and recapture the zest she felt she was missing earlier on in her diagnosis journey.

“Type 2 diabetes can be a very lonely and isolating disease,” LeFever said. “Figure out how you can incorporate joy into your life every day, whether it’s playing with your kids or grandkids, or going for a walk.”

To learn more about LeFever’s diabetes journey, watch the video above.
