Dr. Hurd currently teaches endocrinology, which is an elective course on the principle bioregulators, including hormones, neuropeptides, and cytokines, which play a key role in both normal physiology and disease. Dr. Hurd trained as a post-graduate fellow in endocrinology and metabolism at the University of California, Los Angeles, and has also worked as both a clinician and a researcher at St. Louis University School of Medicine and the Cincinnati VA Medical Center.
As a member of the Xavier Jesuit community, Dr. Hurd also teaches a course in bioethics with the philosophy department and the Ethics/Religion and Society Program.
