Being Yourself Is More Than Enough

Posted on May 14, 2018

"After years of feeling like I need to be better, stronger, healthier, and in control, I now know I am enough." -Member of DiabetesTeam

Members of DiabetesTeam experience the burden of type 2 diabetes physically, emotionally, and psychologically. Sometimes we strive to appear healthier than we are to avoid the stigma of diabetes. Other times, we experience relief and support from peers who've been in our shoes.

"I'm getting out of the rat race. I'm not hiding my condition anymore. If I'm tired, I'm going to rest. Hearing from others with diabetes has taught me that I have to prioritize ME." -Member of DiabetesTeam

Here are recent conversations from members on DiabetesTeam:

"I am doing great. Feeling good and my health is great also. Blood sugar has been dropping low but I know how to handle that so I am alright. On a new Insulin and I like it, just have to adjust."

"Good day! A productive day working from home made an awesome dinner for my hubby and I. Blood sugar was the lowest it's been! Not low of course but it's usually high so I'm very happy."

"I am so happy to be here. Each day I am here makes me feel stronger and able to fight this together with people that share their struggles, cheer on success and pray for those in need."

Have you found yourself striving to appear as though you have it all together? Have you discovered ways to surround yourself with others who make you feel that you are more than enough? Share what you've learned in the comments below or directly on DiabetesTeam.com.
