Type 2 diabetes, High Cholesterol, Osteoarthritis, and high blood pressure.
Yes, you can have honey, but you must test what your limits are. No one glove fits all scenario
With my hypothyroidism and being type 2 is there still a possibility of reversing my diabetes, I've been a diabetic so long ang I know hypothyroidism and having diabetes is hereditary, but I would like to know if it's possible.
My grandmother, father, Sister & myself all have under active thyroid and take the generic for Synthroid medicine for it.
There seems to be a great misconception out there that the "treatment used" is how the Type of Diabetes is determined
Insulin is a treatment for Diabetics, ALL Diabetics IF they NEED it
Type 1 Diabetics have an auto-immune disease that "within days" destroys their own ability to produce insulin - without insulin they will die within a week or two
They (Type 1's) need insulin from minute one of diagnosis and currently there is not other treatment to help keep them alive

All of us here have either been diagnosed with Diabetes or have someone close to us that have been given the news
So what is the "criteria" that separates us from Joe or Jane SugerEater?
Currently it is simply having an A1C, above 6.5% (47.5 mmol's in the IFCC scale) "twice in a row" measured 90 days apart
That's it, that's all - that "test" is all that is required for the Doc to determine "You have Diabetes"
No matter what you do after that, no matter how you control your blood sugar - no… read more

I knw some of the people living with diabetes don't know which type do they fall under, so they need to be taught Abt both types and their differences.
More people have type to .so far more of those participating here are type2. Maybe one of the embassators could help you find a team with more Type1 participants
After a year and 1/2 they just figured it out (was misdiagnosed with diabetes type 2, now it's 1.5: a bit of both 1 and 2 , and possible thymus cancer can cause it too). If you have have had a thyroid issue that's all it takes. I've had couple of autoimmune conditions. And my dad has too. Turns out my epilepsy is autoimmune too. Interesting thing about the diabetes: one of my two hospitals has an an autoimmune diabetes specialist. Apparently it's a newer type of doctor.
Thanks Graham. If anything, it's my CGM and diet that keeps me from "slipping up". If for my husband's sake, if anything, makes me hope I'm one of the lucky ones.
