How long does it take to get A1C levels down with improved eating and exercise?

How long does it take to get A1C levels down with improved eating and exercise?

Was recently diagnosed as Type 2 diabetic. My original Glucose A levels were 11.2. Two weeks later (Feb 1) my A1C A level was measuring 10. I've changed my diet (following Dr Gundry food guide), no red meats, no dairy, mostly fish, chicken, turkey and lots of veggies/greens. Am down 16lbs so far (20 to go). I'm determined to defeat this diabetes with heathier food plan and exercise. Question/curious, how long do your figure it takes… read more

Carotid artery surgery

Carotid artery surgery

I am 53 and have had t2 for 21 years. I just found out my left carotid artery is 90% blocked and I need surgery. No stent they are just going to open and clean out. I am worried I know either way there is a chance of stroke. Has anyone had this surgery?

Victoza - I loved it but ended in emergency for the pain I was experiencing.

Bad Medication?

Bad Medication?

My insurance forces me to get 90 days supply at a time. So taking 2500 mg Metformin daily (2- 1/2 tablets) I have to get 275 tablets each go round in 2 separate bottles. In the past 2-3 weeks, I have noticed that my fasting (& even other times) glucose checks were rising (Normal is 80- 120, Lately has been 150- 180). Not much has changed, diet, activity,...... Yet my fasting glucose was stubbornly high. Up until then, I have had no problems. Yesterday, I took part of the mediation (1000 mg)… read more
