I Have Been On Lantus For Several Years Now. My Health Insurance Decided As Of 1/1/23 Lantus Will No Longer Be Covered.
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been on Lantus for several years now. My Health Insurance decided as of 1/1/23 Lantus will no longer be covered. Anthem suggested Basaglar, Levemir, Toujeo, or Tresiba. Are any of you on these, any pros or cons of each? It is always something.

I am on Humalog for Quick Acting (as far as I know, this is still covered)

Thanks

Is It Safe To Take My Levemir At Night If My Sugar Is Low Before I Take It?
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

Since Friday I've been on a very strict diabetic diet, following everything dr said to do as my Fasting sugar A1C was 321. Since I've been very strict my sugars are down in the 100's but I had one before supper tonight at 88. That was before my Novolog injection before supper. Two hours after eating it was 125. Great numbers for me but now I'm afraid if I take my slow acting Levemir tonight (80 units) it'll drop too low and I won't know it. any suggestions?

Levemir is slow acting. Doesn't kick in till 4 hours after injection. works all night. I take 32 units and I have taken it when blood sugar was 125. I looked it up on Google. It's suppose to stabilize… read more

Has Anybody Switched Insulin Lately?
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

I just switched from Levemir and Novorapid to Basalgar and Apidra. Much cheaper and seems to control my sugars more efficiently. Has anybody else switched insulins lately?
