At first I started using Relion Prime, which worked just as well for me as did the more expensive brands (your doctor will give you a meter for free, but the test strips are outrageous). After comparing them side by side… read more

A DiabetesTeam Member said:

There is two types of Humulin. R and N. Both will have "U" after them.

What Are Appropriate Blood Glucose Readings?

I have had Type 2 for several years. I am taking a blood glucose reading twice a day. With my diabetes nurse we are trying to adjust my dosage of Humulin and Victoza. Is there a universally accepted target range for readings. This is what I compiled from various sites. Are these reasonable?

Can You Skip A Few Days Of Metformin If You Are Experiencing Nausea And Vomiting

Can You Skip A Few Days Of Metformin If You Are Experiencing Nausea And Vomiting

I am having an issue due to Ozempic causing severe nausea and vomiting to the point that I became severely dehydrated. I won't be taking any more Ozempic but until it's all out of my system, I am still very nauseous. Is it okay to skip my metformin dose until I feel better?

A DiabetesTeam Member said:

If your pills are 500 mg each, then yes some diabetics do take up to 2000 mg per day.

I believe it is the maximum dose (although some doctors may prescribe up to 2500 mg I believe)
