I have been on Lantus for several years now. My Health Insurance decided as of 1/1/23 Lantus will no longer be covered. Anthem suggested Basaglar, Levemir, Toujeo, or Tresiba. Are any of you on these, any pros or cons of each? It is always something.
I am on Humalog for Quick Acting (as far as I know, this is still covered)
Thanks

Things in general have been good. Got my A1c from 13.5 to 5.8 in 6 months.
Got a question though. I was on Lantus at first. Then I switched insurance and the new insurance would not cover Lantus. They only pay for Basaglar, It seems that Basglar does not work as well as the Lantus did in me. It takes quite a bit more units for it to have the same effect.
Is this normal. Has anyone else noticed anything like this?

This is a bit of a public service announcement for Insulin users in Ontario in case you have not heard yet
Recent changes to those that get their Meds through ODB, Trillium or any of the private insurance carriers that follow their guidelines "may" see a prescription change to a different, biosimilar brand of Insulin
For those using Lantus (from Lilly pharmaceuticals) will be switched to Basaglar - still made by Lilly, just a new/improved formula
Humalog (Lilly) users will switch to Ademlog… read more
Same thing here in BC. A few months ago I switched from NovoRapid to Trurapi and never noticed any difference.

Thanks for the advice. I remember testing urine that way when I worked. I am a huge plain water drinker so I will definitely put that into practice thanks for being so supportive
