Check you number before eating. Eat a set amount of carbs. Check your 2 hour number.
When you are eating to your carb tolerance... Your 2 hour number will be at or near your before eating number.
That is the number of carbs you should be limiting for your meals.
Do you do carb counting? You count the carbs at each meal. You check your post meal number? That will be 2 hours after your first bite after a meal. It should be 140 or lower. That the American Diabetes Association guidelines for post meal numbers. Reading labels can help count carbs but there is also an app that helps with carb counting. I will send you the link. Simply put. Some diabetics cannot handle as many carbs as others diabetics. Like our Henry can only tolerate 3 to 4 carbs per meal. It keeps from getting to many carbs. And it can help with blood sugar spikes and weight loss. Drastically cutting carbs can cause ketosis. Slowly cutting your carbs until you find your balance will stop ketosis.
