I always try to eat at least an hour after getting up. If I'm not hungry I will drink a Glucerna meal replacement shake.

It's best to eat in the 1st half hour after awakening. To tell your liver to shut off the glycogen it is releasing to aid in the wake up activities.

Nondiabetics produce plenty of insulin to compensate for the stored glucose release. But our systems are a bit broken.

We need to close those stored glucose taps as soon as possible.

Lol. I stomp my foot and say dad gum it. My son will ask what's wrong mom? I give him the look then he zips it. I'll say straighten out woman, we aren't doing this today.
He will check my sugars if I am shaking to bad. But, he keeps it zipped until I'm acting normal again.
It does affect us all differently. Because we all have an unique blueprint that is encoded into our DNA

I can totally relate. I am easy going most of the time, but if my bs gets low I'm ready to tackle a bear😆. For real though friends, when my sugar gets low I have anger issues. I have to apologize afterwards. I'm really nice in real life. Ask Henry

Good day everyone. I normally need a meal within 1-1.5 hrs upon waking up otherwise my short temperedness comes to fore, and I will prepare a meal whether any of my family joins me or not. I literally refuse to do or attend other things until I eat some food - bananas, fruits, wheat bread, salad or even crackers etc. And I do give a fair warning to all - literally - that I need to eat and drink first. Or else they wouldn’t like me when I am hungry and/or angry. And, Of course I check my bs prior to the intake of food most of the time. Have a great day !
