Obviously if they think you need insulin therapy then you should take it but I'd be aware that if you are insulin resistant long term insulin therapy is not a good idea as it can create the condition hyperinsulinemia which can attack organs such as the heart.
Like everything to do with diabetes it's a balance of risk so if you are critically hyperglycaemic then it's the right course. My feeling is that you should treat it as short term and take other actions such as reducing your carbs further (if you not already done so) as this would be the best long term solution.
Diabetes is tough but not insurmountable.

You have done an awesome job Henry. Some ppl are scared of also when the first start injections air embolisms, but the pre filled pens shouldn't cause that, or hitting a vein. When I first start taking the B12 injections I was scared of these two things as I had to draw the B12 from a vial. My nurse walked me through the process and showed me how to get the air bubbles out.
Injections don't have to be scary. How did your tummy do on the Metformin? Love you ❤️
