The problem with skimmed milk is that it has more carbs than regular milk. I drink full soya milk in tea (double cream in coffee which only has 1.6g/100g carbs) and it's zero carbs.
Test after eating brown rice, brown pasta, sweet potatoes etc and if your bgs are still high cut them out. It's as simple as that.
Sure brown carbs raise your carbs more slowly but they still might reach the same levels as refined carbs but just slower to get there which means that brown carbs can be just as harmful as refined carbs.
Wholewheat pasta, wholemeal bread, brown rice are light years better than their white equivalents. White bread and white pasta uses heavily processed bleached white flours the healthy parts are processed out of them.and it's the same for Wholegrain rice. Wholewheat pasta, wholemeal.bread and; wholegrain rice have all the fibre and husks left in cos the fibre is so.important!
Try cutting your carbs in half. Then see where your numbers are.
If it gives u heartburn drink a glass of skimmed milk
