Members offered practical advice on how to lower an A1C from 6.5 to 5.2, with several pointing out that an A1C of 5.2 requires an average blood glucose of around 100 over a 90-day period. A recurring theme was the importance of reducing carbohydrates, fats, and hidden sugars found in so-called 'healthier' food alternatives, with one member sharing a tip from a diabetic nurse about choosing smaller portions of full-sugar foods over misleading low-sugar options. The community also encouraged patience, noting that changes take two to three months and that tracking small daily patterns can be more helpful than focusing only on the final number.

6.5 means your average blood glucose number for the previous 90 days was 140(7.8).

5.2 means your average blood glucose number needs to be 100(5.54) for the 90 day period.

Does that answer your question.
