Hi Joyce, there is another condition that diabetes can cause and most doctors are not aware of its magnesium waisting syndrome and I’ve had it for over 8 years now. For me magnesium waisting means going to the hospital twice a week every week for the rest of my life. I figured it out from reading over all my test results for two years and noticed I was very very low so I researched it it explained so much about why I always felt weak and tired plus much more.
So I brought it to my doctor and he talked to a specialist as he didn’t know anything about it. That’s when I learned I had that disease we tried supplements but they just made me so sick my digestive system just couldn’t handled it. From being so low for so long it damaged my digestive tract that’s when we started doing infusions and eventually we learned how many I needed a week. So I tell people with diabetes to make sure their doctors keep an eye on their magnesium levels. It can sneak up on you if he don’t watch it and I will tell you it’s no picnic .

They have home A1C test kits. They aren't as accurate as the ones your doctor can provide.
You should ask your doctor how often do they require your A1C test result. For @A DiabetesTeam Member is a year, mine is every 3 months. It's according to how will your diabetes is controlled and if you have other chronic conditions that can affect your A1C
