Does diabetes cause weight fluctuations? Yes, managing weight with diabetes can be challenging for several reasons:

• Diabetes medications can make weight loss more difficult while trying to manage blood sugar
• Insulin resistance can affect how your body processes and stores energy
• Blood sugar swings (both high and low) can impact metabolism
• The relationship between weight and diabetes is complex - while obesity is a risk factor, the condition itself can make maintaining a stable weight harder Here are some tips for managing weight with diabetes:

• Work with your healthcare provider to find the right medication strategy that helps both blood sugar and weight management
• Aim for at least 150 minutes of physical activity per week (about 22 minutes daily)
• Create an individualized plan with a diabetes educator who can help develop strategies specific to your needs
• Don't stop taking prescribed medications - instead discuss alternatives with your doctor if weight is a concern

Yes I know health when ill is a major factor too so I'm stricter with my diet when I'm ill than I am when I'm well. Another factor is cold autumnal n winter weather cos I make a lot more warming more filling hot meals ie: stews, casseroles, homemade thick healthy soups, hotpots etc to fill & give me energy n fuel to keep warm!
