Members shared diverse approaches to managing diabetic fatigue in response to a question about coping strategies, with many emphasizing the importance of gentle movement like walking, gym workouts, or hula hooping to boost energy levels. Several members described using fingerstick testing to identify the root cause of their exhaustion, whether it was low blood sugar requiring a snack, hypoglycemia needing immediate attention, or simply lack of sleep, and then taking small steps to address each issue accordingly. A recurring theme was the value of maintaining stable blood sugar through frequent small meals, staying hydrated, getting adequate rest, and being patient with oneself while celebrating progress like sobriety and fitness milestones.

@A DiabetesTeam Member congratulations on your sobriety! Must have been difficult. Most I know switch to a higher carb diet when trying to quit. What's your diet like now? Prayers you find a way out of depression. I think the 12 steps are great advice for us all !

I walk or hula hoop. A body in motion, stays in motion. 😀
