There is a few (techniques) to lower your fasting number (range) slowly
And you may already be doing some of these already:
Get a good solid 6 to 7 hours of sleep every night
Keep your stress levels to a minimum
Take a 20 minute walk after supper
If you snack after supper stick to higher protein options and keep carbs close to zero
If you have other health issues keep them as completely managed as possible
Our Fasting Numbers are primarily effected by hormones. When certain ones are present/released our liver responds by releasing stored sugar to (fuel) whatever job the hormones are trying to do (in simple terms)
Doing many/all of the above things will regulate those hormones about as well as possible without medication
Additionally, you could also try a supplement since your FBS is just a "little" above an acceptable range
Milk Thistle is a natural supplement that works "like" Metformin - both try and reduce the amount of sugar the liver releases
Chromium improves our insulin resistance and the majority of Type 2's are chromium deficient - if you are one of them, taking the supplement can allow your own insulin to work better/more effectively and reduce your overall blood sugar average in the process
While sleeping our pancreas puts out just under 1 unit of insulin per hour (not much) - helping it work harder/better is a good thing 😁
There is a number of supplements that are also minimally effective against fasting numbers - I have personal experience in the two above which is why I mentioned them - the Milk Thistle reduced my average fasting level by about 0.5 mmols (9 points) so not earth shattering but if you got a similar result it could move your average from 130-140 slightly down to the 120-130 which would help keep you off meds for a little while longer...
