While the provided search results mention Dr. Frederick Banting discovering insulin in 1921 and insulin becoming available in the US in 1923, they don't specify who received the first insulin injection.

To properly answer this trivia question: The first person to receive insulin was Leonard Thompson, a 14-year-old boy with diabetes who received his first injection on January 11, 1922, at Toronto General Hospital. The initial injection actually caused an allergic reaction because the insulin wasn't pure enough. After the team refined the insulin, Thompson received another injection on January 23, 1922, which successfully lowered his blood sugar levels and improved his condition.

He was only given the insulin because his life expectancy was down to days and they weren't sure what would happen and he actually had an allergic reaction to the very first dose which was insulin extracted from a dog and contained an impurity - he received a second dose about a week and a half later "that worked" and modern NPH insulin was born

Hi Judy. Nice to see you're still consistently active. Whitney Houston sang a song "The Greatest Love of All." That would be the love of self. That's the impression I get of you, Judy.
