Yes, frequent hypoglycemic episodes (hypos) are definitely a cause for concern and should be discussed with your wife's healthcare provider. Given her history of bariatric surgery and current diet restrictions, she may need adjustments to her diabetes management plan, including medication timing and dosage.

The combination of diabetes and past bariatric surgery requires careful meal planning and monitoring. It's especially important to work with both her diabetes care team and a registered dietitian who has experience with post-bariatric patients with diabetes. Consider working with a registered dietitian to develop a personalized meal plan that accounts for both her post-bariatric surgery needs and diabetes management. The dietitian can help create a balanced approach that prevents hypos while ensuring proper nutrition. They can suggest appropriate portion sizes and meal timing that work with her specific situation.

Certainly have the Doctor try to address the issue, but unless they are "drug induced" they could simply be just the way her system works

I get a "lot" of hypo's, almost exclusively overnight while I'm sleeping - my blood sugar just "runs a little low" quite a bit of the time

For "Me" that is "natural"

This was one of my lows last week that lasted for nearly 6 hours where I was below 3.9 mmols/70 points

If this was the result of a drug, the drug would need to be adjusted - I can't take a "smaller dose" of my own metabolism, so I experience the lows 😁
