Members rallied around someone experiencing severe nighttime diarrhea that was disrupting their life, offering both practical strategies and encouragement to seek specialized care. Several members shared advice including staying well hydrated to prevent dehydration, exploring the low FODMAP eating plan often used for IBS and gastritis, taking prebiotics or probiotics to balance gut bacteria, and asking a doctor for a referral to a gastroenterologist who could run tests for infections, electrolyte imbalances, or other underlying causes. A recurring theme was the importance of advocating for yourself when symptoms persist, as chronic diarrhea may require more investigation than a simple diet change can address.
